How do I search for books?
Method A:
In the search box on the top left corner, key in any one of the
following, then click "Go":
- Keyword(s)
- ISBN - 10 or 13 digit identification number of book (include no dashes or spaces)
- Title
- Author
Method B:
Click on the "Search" button, and you will be directed to a new
page with a range of search fields. Enter the fields you want to
search then click "Search".

Is the book available?
The status of each book is listed under the title, and determines
its availability at the time the book was last checked:
- "In Stock - Available for immediate delivery"
- This book is in stock and we can ship it immediately (during
office hours)
- "Usually ships within 3-5 business days"
- The book is either on order, or will be placed on order, from the
local supplier. We will ship it on the same day it arrives. If there
are any expected price changes or an anticipated delay, you will be
notified via email.
- "TBA - Price Subject to Change."
- This book is not in-stock and is usually classified as "Order
upon demand" or soon to be declared "Out of print" at
the publishers. We will let you know the time frame to get the book
in if there are still available copies.
- "Coming Soon. Preorder your copy now."
- This book is not yet published. Be one of the first in Australia
to get this book by ordering it now.
- "Out of print...price/avail/options will be confirmed by
reply email. Usual delay approx 3 weeks."
- This book is out of print and if there are any available overseas
(which you will be notified in the reply email), the usual delay is
approx. 2-3 weeks.
- "Sorry, this book is not available for purchase."
- This book is either out of print or a cancelled publication.
- "This is an old edition. There is a new edition of this book
available. Please only order this one if you want this specific old
edition...it will be treated as a special order."
- This book is an old edition. To order the new edition, please copy
and paste the ISBN indicated on this title on the search column and
you will find the new book.
We constantly update stock levels which are uploaded onto the web
every evening. However, there are rare occasions where books may be
sold out within the same day as you place an order. On such rare
occasions, you will be notified by email for the next appropriate
course of action.
Payment methods
The following methods are the payment types that we accept:
- Credit Card (all) - you can call us on 1800-734-567 or
place your order over the website (www.bookware.com.au).
This is the quickest option and we will ship once the book arrives.
Other methods of paying on the website besides
credit cards include the following. However, please note that the books will be
sent out only when payment is confirmed:
- EFT transfers (direct into our Bookware Account)
You can transfer the correct amount into our bank account, and send
us a confirmation that you had done so. We will check our account and
send the book out once we confirm that the money has entered the
account. Please note that transfers usually take about a day to be
processed (by the bank), so we usually ship the next day from your
date of transfer.

How do I check stock levels or the progress of my order?
Every order that is received during office hours will be attended
to immediately, and you will be notified by email about the status of
the order by the end of the day. Every time we send an order or a
backorder (for books that were not in stock previously), we will send
an email to you informing you about the shipment. If you do not
receive any email notification from us within a day (for orders placed
during Monday to Friday), please call or email us to confirm that we
have received your order.
How will I know my order has been received and is being processed?
Upon receiving your order, a reply advising you on the status of
your order will be sent to your nominated email address by the end of
the weekday. If the book is not in stock and needs to be ordered in,
the email will provide details of expected date of arrival and pricing
changes (if any). A final email will then be sent advising you that
the books have been shipped and the number of days it is expected to
take to reach you.
When will I be charged for my order?
Your credit card will only be charged when the books are actually
shipped out. If the books are not in stock, you will be notified
through email about its status. You will only be charged when the book
arrives and is shipped out.
Will a tax invoice be issued?
Yes, the receipt that you print from the website serves only as
proof of order. A proper tax invoice will accompany the parcel being
sent to you.
What happens if I accidentally pressed "Process my
order" more than once?
If we receive multiple separate orders for the same book from the
same person, we will email you to find out whether it is duplicate
order, or if you really wanted more than one copy of the same
book.
What if I'm not home when the books are delivered?
If the parcel is sent using Australia Post's Receipted Delivery
service, they will usually send you a notification card for you to
pick it up at your local post office.
For parcels sent by Unregistered or Express Post, Australia Post
may leave the parcel at your residence or office without it being
signed for. However, if they decide that there is no safe place to
leave the parcel [i.e. it is too large for the letterbox], then they
will take it to the post office for collection. In these
circumstances they should leave a notification card at your door or
letterbox.
Returns Policy
Part 1) Damaged Books
- If a book arrives to you in a damaged or otherwise unsatisfactory
state (i.e a printing error with mismatched pages), please contact Bookware for
a full refund or exchange including shipping costs. We will require a written,
verbal or visual description of the damage.
- If you still have the original packaging, please tape the parcel
back up and mark the parcel as "RETURN TO SENDER", and place it in a post box.
Please DO NOT lodge it at the post office.
- We will attempt to source a replacement copy from the publisher,
and ship it to you as soon as possible. If necessary, we will include a
self-addressed satchel for you to use to return the damaged book.
- If a book is returned without correspondence with Bookware first,
no refund will be issued and no further action will be taken to compensate you.
Part 2) Incorrect choice and change-of-mind
- If you have ordered the wrong book, or change your mind after
delivery, then Bookware will accept returns as long as we are
contacted within 7 days of the purchase.
- Any returns for incorrect purchase will receive a STORE CREDIT
for the value of the book(s) only.
- Any shipping cost will be incurred by you - however, if you still
have the original packaging, you can tape it back up (securely) and mark the
parcel as RETURN TO SENDER and place it in a post box. DO NOT lodge it at the
post office.
- The store credit issued will be for the value of the book(s)
returned and will not include the original shipping cost.
Cancellation Policy
All orders are considered firm sale except in the following
circumstances:
- If the wait-time is longer than what was originally advised on our
website, then we will accept cancellation at any time. Please contact us first,
as we may be able to find a way to expedite delivery.
- If the book is out of stock with us, we will accept cancellations UNTIL
the book has been placed on order with our supplier. After that, cancellations
will only be accepted if the delay is longer than first advised.
- In the event that you discover that you have ordered the wrong
book and inform us before we ship, we will attempt to cancel the order
with our supplier. If we are able to do this, we will happily accept
your cancellation. If we are unable to cancel the order with the
supplier, your order will be processed.
Bookware reserves the right to:
- Cancel orders for books which we are unable to source (most commonly out
of print titles).
- Refuse cancellation or return for out of print or special order items,
as long as we have confirmed that with you first. Any out of print or special
order books usually take at least 3-4 weeks to order, and we will ask you first
whether you want to continue.
